This weekend I birthed into this world a new PC. It was born on Saturday night from the bits of my old computer and a 99 quid motherboard from Maplins, plus a new hard drive 4 extra skillZ. The only original components from my 2003 PC are now, the case, the on-off button and the DVD player (currently not working). I also ditched XP. I'd been running an illegal copy for years which meant no updates, plus I didn't have a copy on disk I couldn't load it onto the new hard drive, so I downloaded a Linux based operating system called Ubuntu, which means I now run Linux!
Stating that you run Linux on your PC is a full and frank admission that you are a geek, it's best done in a World of Warcraft forum (failing that write about it on your blog). It's akin to a Christian becoming a priest, a vegetarian joining PETA, a Goth dying their hair black, a gay man getting highlights, or a Daily Mail reader commenting, 'I really think things would be a lot better if there weren't immigrants anywhere'.
So Geek and proud people: “We're here, we've got poor personal hygene, get used to it!”
So far Linx is L337!!
